Victorian Kaleidoscope

I pieced and finished the first quilt in my make-shift studio (semi-finished guest bedroom).  Since the longarm is in storage, I had to quilt this one on the trusty Bernina, I survived the process.  I tried out a ruler I have never used, the Kaleido-Ruler by Marti Mitchell.  Unfortunately, I can't find the fabric line at this moment.  I'll keep digging to see if I have it. One thing I found I needed to fudge a little bigger on the half triangles to make the block come out.  That said, it could have been operator error as I didn't have complete instructions for the paticular pattern "spiderweb" so I was winging it as they say.  Anyhow, the recipient is my newest great niece, she's a little over 18 months old now - my how time flies.  Her momma will have to wait until I get to town, let's hope it's not another 18 months!

My New Home

We've finally moved into our new/old home.  We are getting to follow a dream by moving out of the city and into the mountains.  However, that entails remodeling a rather large building that used to house a church to fit our needs.  Why choose this of all things, well it allows me to eventually have a quilting studio where I won't have to climb around things.  It also allows my husband to have a place of his own.  Did I mention it was all on one floor?  Yippee, no more stairs.  Unfortunately, the quilt studio will be one of the last places to be finished, so I'm relegated to the one room that is semi done. It needs a bit of finishing, but hey I can get back to needle and thread, something I've been missing for the last few months.
